Since the past few months, Farah Khan has been winning hearts with her regular cooking vlogs on YouTube, along with her cook, Dilip. But apart from being a popular vlogger, Farah is a well-known director, producer and choreographer. Some of her films and songs still remain iconic. Recently, in her latest vlog with Ashneer Grover, Farah Khan opened up about the expense of one of her songs, Gerua from the film, Dilwale with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
On September 12, 2025, Farah Khan uploaded the vlog, in which she and Dilip went to Ashneer Grover’s house. During the house tour, Farah noticed the couple’s love for travelling and said, "You guys have travelled so much!" To this Ashneer's wife, Madhuri instantly replied by saying, "We recently visited Iceland, where you shot Gerua."
After this, Farah Khan looked and jokingly asked, "Did you two recreate the iconic Shah Rukh-Kajol scene?" To Farah's question, the couple quipped, "No, we didn’t have a chiffon saree for that. We just played the song in the background." The couple continued by adding that when they googled about which Bollywood song is shot in Iceland, they only found Gerua, and Farah then explained the reason behind this. She shared:
"That’s because Gerua is the only Bollywood song ever shot in Iceland. The location is incredibly expensive. We shot that song with just two people, and yet the budget was Rs 7 crore."
Gerua is a romantic song of Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan from Rohit Shetty's film, Dilwale. The song is filmed across Iceland’s southern coast, including Reynisfjara Beach, the plane wreck site, mountains, and volcanic landscapes. Earlier, Kajol and SRK had shared their experience on Red Chillies Entertainment’s YouTube channel. They had said:
"It was so much cold. We couldn’t stand over there. I had three jackets and hoodies on me. That iceberg and we had to be tied to avoid it from slipping away. It was getting difficult for us to rehearse there. Our lips turned blue. We couldn’t open them to lip sync."
Even though, Farah Khan spent Rs. 7 crore on one song, it isn’t the most expensive Bollywood song. According to multiple reports, the makers of Game Changer had revealed that their budget for four out of seven songs was Rs. 75 crore. The songs were choreographed by Ganesh Acharya and it features almost 1,000 dancers.
