Believing the video to be true, netizens expressed their grief over the bride’s to-be-husband. However, on December 19, 2025, Shruti took to her Instagram handle and shared a video to clarify that the video was scripted and the content creator, Aarav Mavi, uploaded the video without her consent. She was quoted as saying:

"Aap log sabne ye video dekhi hogi, isme jo dulhan hai woh mein hoon. Toh jis content creator ke liye maine ye video banai thi, let me tell you one thing ki yeh video mere consent se upload nahi hui hai. Mei last moment actress thi. Us bandhe ne sidha video dal di. Merese pucha nahi. Usne baad mein clarification dali jaha usne bola ki scripted hai."

In the video, Shruti revealed how she and her family are being trolled after the video of her went viral. She shared that although the content creator made a clarification video, he didn’t tag her or mention her in the video. She also highlighted how the content creator assured her and her mom about the clarification video. Shruti also commented on Aarav’s clarification video. Her comment can be read as:

"Thanks for the clarification, but at least you should tag me or collab, so everyone gets to know that I was just acting and they should stop harassing me mentally."

According to the video, she was going to meet her ex-boyfriend just 2 hours before her phera. In the clip, Aarav claimed that the dulhan’s family pressurised her for marriage.

On December 16, 2025, the content creator, Aarav Mavi, took to his Instagram handle and shared a clarification video. He started the video saying that he never expected the video would go viral. He then went on to say that he is a content creator who takes real-life incidents and shoots videos following a script based on such topics.

Netizens slammed the content creator for posting the video without the actress's consent

Soon after Shruti clarified that the video was just an act and the clip was uploaded without her consent, many users slammed the content creator, Aarav on the comment section. A user wrote, "Shame on you for not getting consent from @shrutidahuja and using her just for some content... this is not how collab is done, and you didn't even tag her... shame on you." Another user commented, "Because of you, that girl got trolled so much. Next time, mention somewhere that this shit is scripted and at least thank her for her superb acting and your viral reel. "
