Esha Gupta On Her And Hardik's Dating Buzz, Accepts They Were In Talking Stage, '..Wasn't His Type'

Hardik Pandya is one of the most talented Indian cricketers, whose swift cricketing skills often make cricket fanatics go gaga. Hardik's personal life often grabs the attention for one reason or another. He was married to Natasa Stankovic for several years before they called it quits in July 2024. Hardik, before he got married to Natasa, was rumoured to be dating another Bollywood diva, Esha Gupta. While they never addressed the same, recently, Esha accepted that something began between her and the cricketer, although it wasn't 'dating-dating'.

Esha Gupta accepts being in a talking stage with Hardik Pandya

Esha Gupta recently sat for an interview with Siddharth Kannan, wherein she was asked about her dating buzz with Hardik Pandya, which began in 2018. Replying to the same, Esha admitted that she and Hardik had been talking for a couple of months. Esha revealed that is was in a 'maybe it will, maybe it won't' stage, and before even it could reach the actual dating stage, it ended. Esha mentioned that she and Hardik had met once or twice, but it was not like a 'dating-dating'. Esha can be quoted as saying:

“Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months. We were at that ‘maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t’ stage It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn’t dating-dating. We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended.”

In the same interview, when Esha was asked about whether she and Hardik had the potential to be a couple, the actress stated that it might have gone somewhere, but it didn't work out like that. Esha shared that back then, Hardik and KL Rahul were already going through a hard time due to the controversy that erupted over their comments on Koffee With Karan. Esha mentioned that by then, she had already stopped talking to Hardik. When asked if she was bothered by the comments that Hardik made, she replied that she wasn't bothered by that.

Esha Gupta reveals why things ended between her and Hardik Pandya

Going forward in the interview, Esha Gupta was asked why things had ended between her and Hardik. To this, the actress shared that when the controversy erupted, things had already phased out between her and Hardik, as both of them realised that they were not the same or compatible enough. She further mentioned how everyone has a different perspective, and for her, she is family-oriented. Talking more about the same, Esha mentioned:

“By the time that episode came out, it had already phased out. We just realised that we are not the same, not compatible enough. And everyone has a type. More than the limelight, I like family and real life. Of course I love my work — without the camera, there would be no Esha Gupta. But at the end of the day, I like going home and asking my mom what’s going on, getting scolded by her. I like all that. I can’t deal with waking up every morning and thinking ‘Oh my God,’ and my husband and I praising ourselves for how good-looking we are — I can’t handle that.”

Esha Gupta further clarified that it didn't mean that she said that about Hardik Pandya, but it is a generalised thing for most of the people in the glamour world that they are much into themselves. However, she also revealed that, as per her, she and Hardik were not compatible enough with each other, which is why things ended between them. She stated that even before they reached the proper dating stage, the connection between them phased out. According to Esha, Hardik, too, by then, has realised that she was not his type. Esha can be quoted as saying:

"Nothing against Hardik Pandya, as I said, it was just the talking stage. You know how there are stages? We never even got to the proper meeting stage. I don’t think we were compatible, so things never progressed. It’s not that there was something lacking in him or me — we were just very different. And in a month or two, even he realised I wasn’t his type, and I realised he wasn’t mine.”
