Esha Deol Shares She Does Not Think Of Herself As A Single Mom, 'I Don't Behave Like One'

It was in 2024 when Hema Malini and Dharmendra's daughter, Esha Deol, announced her separation from Bharat Takhtani. In an indirect manner, Esha opened up about her bond with her ex-husband, Bharat, and revealed that she does not like being known as a single mother. She expressed her views on maintaining a cordial bond with him after their divorce and also spoke about the importance of kids being co-parented.

Esha Deol opens up on not seeing herself as a single mother

During a recent interview with Mamarazzi, Esha revealed that she does not like to think about the past, but also focuses on her growth and revealed she and Bharat have a lot of respect for one another. Esha, who is a mother to two daughters, revealed that she never saw herself as a single mom, and neither she likes to behave like one. In her words:

"I let ah the other person behave that way with me it's just that in life sometimes ah due to certain things roles change so ah and if it doesn't work out in a certain equation of what two people were at one point you must take it up on themselves. The two mature individuals must take it upon them to work out in another dynamic but keep the unit together for the sake of the children. And that’s exactly what Bharat and I do."

Esha and Bharat were married for many years and together are co-parenting their two little daughters, Radhya and Miraya. The differences between them were irreplacable and so they decided to part ways. However, Esha and Bharat have always been committed to co-parenting their kids and ensuring that an environment is created for them.

Esha Deol reveals cutting out on social meetings to give time to her daughters

Esha did admit in the interview that she likes to give time to everything that makes her feel contented and satisfied. She also shared that she cut out on her social outings to give time to her kids, as she feels that is the only way to balance it out. It was in 2012 when Esha and Bharat got married and in 2024 separated mutually. Even in their separation post, they had mentioned that their daughter's well-being would be the most important to them and had sought privacy. Esha, earlier in an interview with Times Now Digital, spoke on co-parenting and shared:

"When kids are involved, it is important to let your ego aside and have the threshold. At the end of the day, we are parents to these beautiful kids. Let’s give them the best and that’s when I think, when you decide to do that, when you are like that, the other person… he or she has to melt, if it’s possible. And you change the roles. And you co-parent."

The actress also shared that there are days when she has to shoot for 10 to 12 hours. During such times, she tries to spend at least 4 hours with her daughters and is completely dedicated to them. This is because there are times when her schedule goes for a toss, which creates guilt, and there is mismanagement. When she gets off, she tries to spend it with her kids so that they enjoy and feel satisfied. Esha gives full attention to her kids.
