Esha Deol Shares First Pic With Ex-Husband, Bharat Takhtani, On Father's Day, 'Dada To Our Babies'

Esha Deol, the daughter of Bollywood veterans, Dharmendra and Hema Malini has been in the spotlight since a young age. From her debut in the 2000s to her glamorous avatars and decision to step back for sometime from showbiz after becoming a mom, the actress has continued to gracefully present herself every time. When Esha parted ways with her husband, Bharat Takhtani, after 11 years of marriage, some media reports speculated that the former couple might have a bitter bond. But, once again, the actress has proved that she is able to rise over personal differences to handle the transitions in life with maturity.

Esha Deol shares first picture with her ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani, after her divorce 

Esha Deol recently, on the occasion of Father's Day, took to her Instagram handle and shared a rare but touching photo with her ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani, for the first time after her divorce. The photo featured the actress seated in the middle with her father, Dharmendra, on one side and her ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani, on the other. It seemed to be a recent photo from her daughter's birthday party. Sharing the significant photo, she penned:

"Happy Father's Day. Here with my darling papa & Dada to my babies."

In the picture, Esha was seen wearing a simple soft pink salwar suit with intricate floral designs, minimal makeup and hair tied in a bun at the back. Whereas, Bharat wore a crisp white shirt with brown trousers. Moreover, Dharmendra wore a blush pink shirt and black pants.

When Esha Deol opened up about co-parenting with Bharat Takhtani 

Esha Deol earlier sat down for an interview with Mamaraazzi and opened up about co-parenting her daughter with her ex-husband, Bharat Takhtani. She explained that despite the changed dynamics between her and Bharat, she doesn't consider herself to be a single mom for their daughters, and neither behaves like that. So, like two mature individuals, she and Bharat have tried to work out their new equation for the sake of their daughter. In her words: 

"It's just that in life, sometimes, due to certain things, roles change. And if it doesn't work out in a certain equation of what two people were at one point, you must take it upon yourself, especially when you have children. The two mature individuals must take it upon themselves to work out another dynamic but keep the unit together for the sake of the children. And that's exactly what Bharat and I do."

Esha Deol and Bharat met for the first time when they were in school at an inter-school competition. She made the first move by sharing her number, but they separated in their teens, and later, the actress' sister, Ahana, played a cupid between them. They rekindled their romance on Esha's trip to the US, and after dating, they tied the knot in a traditional ceremony at Mumbai's ISKCON temple on June 29, 2012. The duo welcomed two daughters, Radhya in 2017 and Miraya in 2019. Later, after some rumours of a rift between them in 2023, they announced their divorce in early 2024 by sharing a joint statement. It read:

"We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children are and will be of utmost importance to us. We'd appreciate that our privacy is respected."
