Bollywood stars, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s romantic movie, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, had a theatrical release on October 21, 2025. The movie was released on the day of Diwali alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer, Thamma. The film has received mixed views from the audiences as well as critics. Now, there are reports doing the rounds related to the OTT release of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
According to an ETimes report, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat will be streamed on OTT giant, Netflix after it has its theatrical run. The expected time for the movie to release on OTT is approximately 45 to 60 days after the theatrical release. The movie had a clash with Thamma and received a positive response from the sea of fans and also the critics. Now, if the OTT release date gets confirmed, then surely it will be a Diwali dhamaka for Harshvardhan and Sonam's fans.

If the report by the publication is true, then the movie, after a theatrical run of around 60 days, will be released on the OTT platform in December 2025. Well, the makers of the movie have not yet released the official release date of the film. Well, apart from Harshvardhan and Sonam, the supporting cast of the movie also includes Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, Rajesh Khera, and many more.

According to the report by the publication, the CBFC board had requested numerous modifications from the makers of the movie, including trimming a shot that was around 2 minutes and 12 seconds, along with the removal of a one-second Mantralaya clip. The dialogue of 'sleep with her' was deleted, and the word 'Raavan' was replaced with 'villain', like in two instances. All the dialogue references towards Ramayana were removed and the term 'maal' was replaced with 'ladki'. Speaking about the changes that CBFC wanted, Harshvardhan told the publication:
"I stand by CBFC policies as they are meant to safeguard our cultural values and avoid any unintentional harm to Indian sensibilities. If they believe the word Raavan should be replaced with villain, I completely support their decision. As for the audience, if a film isn’t great, even a U/A certificate can’t save it. But if it’s a good film, the audience will turn it into a superhit.”

Another concern for the movie was its advance bookings. The film did see a Diwali release but reportedly got fewer screens compared to the competitor movie, Thamma. The first day of advance booking for Harshvardhan's romantic movie was indeed affected. The bookings reopened later due to claims of unequal treatment by PVR Inox, a major multiplex chain. Harshvardhan commented on the issue and shared that he has a double PhD in being taken lightly. He secretly enjoys being underestimated, as it is something that fuels his quiet fire. In his words:

"Our first day of advance booking was affected, but I’m glad corrections were made. In the short term, underestimation may impact a film, but in the long run, it only strengthens my resolve. I believe in the power of romance in the eyes, resilience in the heart, and the audience’s final verdict.”
