Dulquer Salmaan is one of the most sought-after pan-Indian actors currently among his generation. He has created a name for himself across multiple regional film industries, and has also made massive success in Bollywood. For the unversed, Dulquer happens to be the youngest son of Mollywood superstar, Mammootty. Currently, he is on a promotional spree for his OTT-debut film, Guns and Gulaabs and is also rooting for his next release, King Of Kotha.
During a recent interaction with the Humans Of Bombay, Dulquer opened up on his identity being the son of the great actor and megastar, Mammootty. He recalled the time when he revealed to his parents about his desire to work in films, and shared how his father was the first one to straight up mention that he would not call in any favours for him. Sharing his father, Mammootty’s word of advice for him to find his own way, Dulquer mentioned:
“I had a breakdown moment when I told my folks what I wanted to do. My dad was like, ‘I am not going to do anything for you, I am not going to call in any favours, I am not going to get you any opportunity.”

In the same interview, Dulquer opened up about that one valuable piece of advice he got from his dad, Mammootty. He mentioned that his father taught him to take in all the criticism that he would come across in his journey of films. Dulquer also shared how his father mentioned that he wouldn’t be able to protect him when people would try to bring him down, owing to his privileged background. In his words:
“They will try to bring you down more because you are my son and I don’t know how to protect you.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Dulquer was asked to reveal his father, Mammootty’s take on his success in the film industry thus far, and share if he was proud of his achievements. To this, the handsome hunk revealed that his father is quietly proud of him, and he does not say about the same on his face. However, Dulquer admitted witnessing his father being proud of him amidst his close group of friends.

In his personal life, Dulquer is happily married to his high-school sweetheart, Amal Sufiya and the duo is blessed with their daughter, Maryam. In one of his earlier interviews with Masala.com, Dulquer heaped praises on his wife, and revealed that she happens to be the biggest critic for him. Moreover, he mentioned his wife’s quality of never sugarcoating things for him, and whether good or bad, she directly says it to his face.
