Dipika Kakar Reveals 1-Year-old Son, Ruhaan's Reaction To Her Cancerous Liver Tumour 'Samajh Gaya'

Dipika Kakar has been going through a tough time in her life, as she was diagnosed with a tennis-ball-sized liver tumour, which was later confirmed second-stage malignant (cancerous). It was Dipika's husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, who first shared the news through his vlog, and revealed that surgery would take place to remove the tumour. It was on May 26, 2025, when Dipika took to her IG handle and shared her post about the same. Shoaib and Dipika also shared a vlog, wherein they revealed some more details along with their 1-year-old baby boy, Ruhaan's reaction to the actress' health condition.

Dipika Kakar talks about her cancerous liver tumour and reveals doctors' take on the same

In their vlog, Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar talked about the cancerous tumour that the latter has. Dipika and Shoaib had done several tests to confirm if the tumour was cancerous, and while the initial reports were negative, later, it was confirmed that it was actually cancerous. Dipika, in the vlog, said the term 'cancer' itself is very scary, for the patient and even for her/his family members. Dipika further revealed that doctors had told her that she had gotten the illness at such a stage, where it is very easily curable. In Dipika Kakar's words:

"Cancer is a scary word for everybody. For the patient as well as the family. But the doctors have said that I’ve gotten this illness at a time when it can be cured very easily."

In the same vlog, Shoaib Ibrahim called his toddler, Ruhaan, 'very sensible' and added that he completely understood that something was wrong. Shoaib further shared that Dipika has stopped feeding her son. Dipika stated that her son could feel that his mom was unwell. She also mentioned that Ruhaan comes once or so a day to ask her to feed him, but he could understand that she wasn't well. She revealed being strong with her entire family, who has been backing her. Dipika can be quoted as saying:

"Mumma theek nahi hai, wo samajh gaya hai. Ek aadh baar din me aake wo bolta hai mujhe, par wo samajh gaya hai. But yes, sab log hain. So, we are staying strong."

On May 25, 2025, Dipika Kakar shared her first post on her tumour diagnosis, wherein she revealed that it had been the hardest time for her, Shoaib and their family members. Talking about what happened back-to-back, she revealed that first, she had to go to the hospital with pain in her upper stomach and then found out about the tennis-ball-sized tumour, and later they got the confirmation of this being second-stage malignant (cancerous). She stated while it's a hard road to go through, she is staying positive and strong. She further credited her family and fans for all the support, love and prayers.

Shoaib Ibrahim revealed when Dipika's surgery is scheduled for

Last week, Shoaib Ibrahim was spotted outside the Kokilaben Hospital, looking worried, which left people wondering if the actress' surgery was going on. However, It was on May 13, 2025, the actor took to his IG handle, and shared an update about his wife's health. He shared that Dipika, who was suffering from a high fever, was feeling better, and her tumour removal surgery has been mostly rescheduled for the next week, i.e. for this week.
