Popular Punjabi singer, actor, Diljit Dosanjh, has been in the public eye related to the controversy surrounding his next offering, Sardaar Ji 3. Fans are very upset with him when they came to know that his movie has Pakistani actress, Hania Aamir. Amid the recent India-Pakistan war that happened in the past after the deadly Pahalgam Attack in May 2025, Diljit's fans are wanting a full ban on his film, Sardaar Ji 3. Now, amid this, an old interview of the singer surfaced where he revealed of not wanting to work in the Bollywood industry.

Diljit Dosanjh's old interview about not having the desire to work in Bollywood surfaces

Diljit had sat down for an interview with Filmy Companion earlier, whose video surfaced on social media. The clip surfaced on Instagram while he was promoting Sardaar Ji 3. Diljit said in the video that he was interested in making music and did not need the approval of any superstar, unlike the time he was working in the entertainment industry. In the video, he was subtly taking a dig at Bollywood as Diljit shared:

"Mujhe kaam karna bhi nahi hai Bollywood mein. Koi icha bhi nahi hai ki main Bollywood me bahot mahaan kalakaar bann jaoon. Main music ko pyaar karta hoon. Aur bina kisi ki marzi se main music kar sakta hoon. Bina kisi superstar ke kehne se, ya kisi ko... 'ki iska kaam chalega, isko gaana milega, isko nahi milega'...Ye sab cheezin humare pe nahi chalti. Koi banda hume rok nahi sakta hai."

When Diljit Dosanjh revealed he did not care if he got work in Bollywood

Diljit, who has now become a famous international singer, revealed that it was music that mattered the most to him. For the unversed, Diljit had become the first singer who performed at Coachella and was the first Sikh artist who made his debut at the Met Gala 2025 red carpet. Diljit, in the interview referred to his music as the work of God and shared of not caring even if he did not get work in Bollywood. He said:

"Toh music banana se mujhe koi rok nahi sakta hai. Jab tak mera mann karega, main music banauga. Jab tak Bhagwaan chahega, music banayege. Aur Bollywood me toh kaam mile ya na mile, ratti bhar parwaah nahi.

Diljit in the video was speaking of his time in the Hindi cinema and if he liked collaborating with folks. He conveniently refused to talk further on the same and said that if he spoke more about the topic, then the matter would escalate. One user, after seeing the video, commented, "Zyada ghammand." Another user shared, "People used to fight with me; Diljit is such a great person. Now, I can proudly say, "I told you so!"

Why Diljit Dosanjh's Sardaar Ji 3 is under controversy

Diljit will be seen next to Punjabi actress, Neeru Bajwa and Pakistani heroine, Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. After the Pahalgam attack that took the lives of 26 people, the Indian government imposed a ban on Pakistani artists and nationals in India. Diljit was seen romancing Hania in the movie, which angered his Indian fans. His manager reportedly released a statement that read:
