Did Cristiano Ronaldo Push A Fan? Video Of Footballer Goes Viral Amid Armenia Vs Portugal Qualifier

Cristiano Ronaldo and his team representing Portugal have swept aside Armenia by scoring 5-0 in the World Cup Qualifier. The professional football player who keeps on setting a benchmark with his performance on the field has again made his home team very proud. However, amid this celebration, Cristiano has also been receiving backlash as a video of him allegedly pushing a fan in Armenia has gone viral.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his team of other Portuguese players were shown walking past a crowd of excited football fans. The video, captured outside the team's hotel in Yerevan, Armenia, shows a zealous fan running towards Cristiano and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him to take a selfie. The footballer, who is surrounded by his teammates, shoves the fan away as he tries to take a selfie. Cristiano doesn't say anything and just walks away. Although the Portuguese footballer has been known for his kindness when interacting with fans, this incident has not gone down well with most netizens. 

Netizens react to the viral video of Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the Armenia vs Portugal qualifier match

Though Portugal has now won against Armenia with a score of 5-0, the video was taken before the qualifier game. After this video from the hotel went viral, netizens have taken to their social media handles to express their disappointment and anger at Cristiano Ronaldo's behaviour with the fan. One X user wrote, "Why the push though. Never meet your hero." Another commentor stated on Instagram, "His morals have been bad for a long time." While there were also other fans who compared Cristiano with Lionel Messi and said, "Messi would never." 

However amid this backlash, there also quite a lot of supportive voices for Cristiano Ronaldo who have justified the footballer's action by saying that the fan was too intrusive and did not respect the player's personal space. One Instagram user supported Cristiano and said, "He had the right to, he came in and pointed the camera at his face without permission." Another commentor called the fan a 'tough, noisy, intrusive kid'. Another supporter of the footballer stated, "Bro u come from behind, running like a madman, you go through security, do you expect hugs and kisses? You guys are so freaking dumb. Jesus."
