Denise Welch's Three Marriages, Terminated Pregnancy With First Husband To Facing Domestic Violence

Denise Welch is a veteran English actress, television personality, writer and broadcaster. She had a career spanning over four decades. She is famously known for her role as 'Natalie Barnes' in Coronation Street, 'Steph Haydock' in Waterloo Road and 'Trish Minniver' in Hollyoaks. While her professional life is filled with glorious moments, her personal life has been a roller coaster ride. She has been married thrice, with two of her marriages ending on a sad note. 

Denise Welch was married to David Easter

Denise Welch was first married to actor, David Easter. Their wedding was a short one, but significant, which transformed her. The couple tied the knot in 1983, and parted ways after five years of living together. Denise claimed that her first husband had committed adultery, which was the end of their marriage. 

Denise regretted terminating her pregnancies with her first husband

Over the years, Denise revealed how she regretted terminating her pregnancy with her first husband. She revealed that six months into her relationship with Brookside, David Easter, she found out about her pregnancy. Denise shared that she was 20 years old and her first husband was just 18 years old, so they decided to terminate the pregnancy. Talking about it, Denise said:

"It wasn’t an easy thing to do and I was tearful when I left the clinic. But David was very supportive. He kept reassuring me that we had plenty of years ahead of us to have babies, which comforted me."

She shared that after seven years of their marriage when she found out about her pregnancy, she rushed to tell her husband. But he questioned her about how he would know that the child was his. It was the end of their marriage and Denise decided to abort the baby. Denise revealed after that her first husband met another woman named Tina and they had a baby girl named Georgina (the name which she had chosen with her first husband). Denise shared:

"Not long after we split up, David met someone called Tina and had a daughter with her really quickly. I was hurt when I found out that he had called the baby Georgina, the name we had chosen."

Denise Welch's encounter with domestic abuse

It is worth mentioning that in 2025, Denise revealed that she had once faced domestic abuse. Without naming her ex-partner, she shared that the incident happened before she rose to fame. She shared that once her ex-partner threw a table at a man who smiled at her. 

Denise Welch's second marriage to Tim Healy

Denise met her second husband, Tim Healy, the same year she divorced David. The couple got married in 1988. Denise divorced her second husband, Tim Healy in 2012.  However, it is worth mentioning that she was 20 weeks pregnant with her eldest son. Denise admitted that she had concealed her baby bump during her wedding to Tim Healy. The actress and her second husband share two sons, Matthew and Louis. Talking about it, she once said:

"I got pregnant before I was married, with Matty. Part of me thought, I do want to get married but will I be bothered after I've had the baby? There was; no pressure on me at all.

Denise Welch's third marriage to 14-year-younger man, Lincoln Townley

After her second divorce in 2012, Denise got married to a 14-year-younger man, Lincoln Townley, in 2013. Their marriage and age difference were widely talked about. As Denise was 50 when she got married third time. For the wedding, she chose a lemon-coloured raw silk and Chantilly lace gown with off-shoulder straps featuring yellow flowers. Later, she changed into a white-embroidered gown with a V-neck and feather detailing.
