Deepika Padukone's Reaction Surfaces When Asked If Ranveer Singh Put 'Ghar Ka Paisa', 'Mere Khud Ke'

Bollywood actress, Deepika Padukone has been touting controversy lately. This is because ace filmmaker, Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Animal fame, took a dig at the actress after she exited his upcoming movie, Spirit. In a post filled with rage, Vanga accused an unnamed actress and it is known to be Deepika, who allegedly violated an untold non-disclosure agreement and revealed his movie story after being replaced by Triptii Dimri. Now, amid this, an old video of the actress resurfaced where she was asked if Ranveer Singh had pooled in his money for her movie, Chhapaak.

For the unversed, Triptii is now the new female lead in Spirit, and Sandeep does not seem to end the row with Deepika. Amid this, an old clip surfaced where the actress gave a stern response to a reporter who had asked if her husband, Ranveer, had invested in Chhapaak, which was Deepika's debut production. Deepika and the full crowd could not stop laughing at the question. Director, Meghna Gulzar also noted that it was not correct to assume that Ranveer's money was put into the movie. A stunned Deepika replied by saying:

"Excuse me, yeh mere khud ke paise hain. Kisne bola yeh? Excuse me, It is my own money,”

Netizens showed support to Deepika Padukone for her strong feminist response

When the video went viral, a user noted, "Why everyone just assumes that if a film is being produced, the producer must be a man. I mean, wth is that question even meant ki Ranveer sir ke ghar ka paisa laga hua hai iss film me as if Deepika doesn’t even work or earn anything herself." Another user shared, "Aree Bhai Ek Film kya Reject kr di, aisa kya Pahad toot pda... Actors/actress do this often i don't why this hoola hoop is happening." A third Redditor commented, "Problem with general public ( especially raja betas) they hate women when they have a choice or strong option about things, most actress in cine industry face sexism or slut shaming on daily basis."

Deepika Padukone's video on revealing that she used her money for her debut production surfaces after Sandeep Reddy Vanga questions her feminist standards

The Kabir Singh director, Sandeep, a few days back, tweeted that when he narrates a story to the actor, he places full faith. By revealing what his film, Spirit, is about, Sandeep accused Deepika of what kind of a person she was and put down another young actor, apart from ousting his story. A part of his tweet slammed Deepika's feminist views and said:

"Is this what your feminism stands for?”

Sandeep is known for his alpha male movies, where the female characters are well presented but in a different manner. The characters do not expose unnecessarily, as seen in Kabir Singh or Animal. The films do not have item numbers. However, it was just that Triptii had one scene in Animal where, as a 'honeypot', she had to be topless. Vanga slammed Deepika's PR team for indulging in dirty games and also gave her a tip of advice to tell the full story as her actions would not affect him. The statement by Sandeep came after Triptii was announced as the new lead next to Prabhas. Deepika's team has not yet confirmed her exit.
