David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown have been making headlines for their ongoing controversy. For the unversed, the Stranger Things actress accused her 'reel-life' dad of bullying her. The statement soon went viral online, and now, an old tweet by David about his bipolar disorder has resurfaced.
Amid the ongoing controversy with Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour's old tweet has resurfaced, where he candidly spoke about his mental health. In the post, David shared that he had lived with Bipolar 2 disorder for almost two decades, reigniting conversations among fans about mental health awareness. The tweet has reappeared amid the ongoing controversy involving his co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, who filed a harassment and bullying complaint before the filming of the show's final season.

Millie Bobby Brown's complaint has prompted a months-long investigation into the allegations. The tweet shared on X (formerly Twitter) dates back to 2018, when David Harbour shared a heartfelt message on World Mental Health Day. In his tweet, the actor opened up about his 17-year journey with Bipolar 2 disorder, writing,
"Today is World Mental Health Day and a day to remind you that I have struggled and lived with Bipolar 2 for 17 years. Abandon shame, embrace yourself and your diagnosis. You can have a rich, successful life and a vital cultural voice. We need you. Happy responsible medicating."

According to reports, an internal investigation took place as Netflix began filming the eighth and final season of Stranger Things, its USD 400 million production project. The news of the investigation was shared by The Mail on November 2, 2025, after Millie Bobby Brown filed a "harassment and bullying" complaint against her co-star, David Harbour, prior to the start of filming in January 2024. While the publication clarified that the allegations did not involve any sexual misconduct, it has still raised several red flags around the work space environment.

A source close to the production house also revealed that the complaints also contained "pages and pages of accusations", leading to a months-long internal probe. David Harbour, who plays 'Jim Hopper' in the Netflix series, is the stern yet caring father figure to Millie Bobby Brown's character 'Eleven', and has shared numerous emotional scenes with her. However, reports suggest that tensions on set prompted Millie to bring a personal representative during the final season's shoot. The controversy has surfaced alongside David's personal struggles, including the reported end of his marriage to singer, Lily Allen.

Lilly Allen's new album seemed to have stirred some trouble for David Harbour. It was only days ago when the singer left fans wondering if the actor had cheated on his then-wife. In the song, she uses the sport as a metaphor to highlight her husband's infidelity. She mentioned finding some texts on his phone, "You won't play with me, and who the f**k is Madeline?" Lily experienced painful betrayal within what she describes as an 'open' marriage with boundaries. Further, she wrote, "It had to be with strangers, but you're not a stranger, Madeline." These songs have led fans to wonder if she was talking about her ex-husband's reported three-year affair with a younger costume designer.
