After a lot of speculations, in January 2015, Cristiano confirmed his split from Irina in an official statement, which could be read as:

“After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end. We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now. I wish Irina the greatest happiness.”

He wanted Irina to be present there with him during the celebration. However, the supermodel refused to be a part of it, and it led to a huge fight between them, after which they broke up. After his breakup with Irina, Cristiano spent the new year with his son.

Additionally, it was also reported that Cristiano’s mother was not very pleased with Irina. She felt Irina couldn’t take the responsibility of a stepmother to Cristiano’s son, Cristiano Jr., but her absence from the birthday party proved that there were family disagreements.

“I love honest men and I love a man who is loyal to women.”
