Chinki-Minki Duo Surabhi And Samriddhi Finally Break Silence On Separation Post: 'Sibling Divorce..'

The Mehra twins, Surabhi and Samriddhi, popularly known as Chinki and Minki, set the internet abuzz when they announced their ‘separation’ via an Instagram post earlier this month. The identical twins, who have grown to be social media sensations in recent years, with more than 12 million followers, sent their fans into a meltdown, sparking concern and heartbreak surrounding a rift. Now, days later, the dynamic duo has set the record straight, assuring that all’s well in their personal lives.

Recently, Surabhi and Samriddhi Mehra addressed the now-viral post announcing their alleged separation that made headlines. In an interaction with Telly Talk India, the Mehra sisters clarified that the emotional tone of their ‘separation’ message was nothing more than a promo campaign for their upcoming reality show, Chhoriyaan Chali Gaon, where they appear not as a jodi, but as individual contestants. Addressing their real-life fallout buzz, Surabhi explained:

"Pehli baat koi separation nahi huya hai. Chinki Minki ko koi bhi alag nahi kar sakta hai. Humara post was related to this show (Chhoriyaan Chali Gaon). Hum sath me jaa rahe hai iss show mein, but as individual contestants. Hum dono sath mein kaam karna kabhi nahi chorenge. We had to post it for the show's promotion. Humein bas thora sa buzz create karna tha. But thora sa buzz… mujhe nahi pta tha itna bada buzz hojayega. Koi sibling divorce, separation nahi ho raha.”

Samriddhi also echoed her sister’s sentiments and clarified that it was just a publicity stunt to generate buzz for the show, as they will participate separately. Reflecting on the overwhelming response to the viral post, the content creator clarified that their bond is stronger than ever, and nobody could separate them in real life. Samriddhi shared:

"It was just for the show. Chhoriyan Chali Gaon ke liye post dala tha. Hum iss show mein alag alag contestants ki tarah jaa rahe hai. Bahr aake sath mein kaam karenge aur Chinki Minki kabhi alag nahi ho sakte. Parting ways was because of this show, and only for this show.”

The confession came merely days after the duo left fans shocked and confused with a cryptic post on their social media handles. On July 3, 2025, taking to Instagram, Chinki and Minki revealed that they were parting ways as a jodi and wrote:

"With a heavy heart, we are parting ways now, as Jodi. We have decided to explore our life on our individual journeys from here on. Grateful for everything we’ve shared and excited for what lies ahead. Keep cheering for both of us with your love and blessings."

The twins have since become household names with their infectious energy, comic timing, and sisterly banter. Born in 1998, the sisters are now widely popular among younger fans. Their upcoming show, Chhoriyaan Chali Gaon, is a reality show by ZeeTV that places glamorous female celebrities in a rustic village setting, challenging them to adapt to rural lifestyles.
