Fans can now watch F1 The Movie on Amazon Prime Video starting August 22, 2025. However, they would have to rent it, with a one-time rental fee of Rs 499 for 4K quality. While this gives early access to fans, the movie will also arrive on Apple TV+, which will be its permanent digital home, between late September and early October 2025. Apple TV+ subscriptions in India start at Rs 99 per month.
Brad Pitt stars as 'Sonny Hayes', a retired Formula 1 legend whose career ended in heartbreak after a brutal car crash. Years later, he’s pulled back into the high-octane world of racing by 'Ruben Cervantes' played byJavier Bardem, 'Ruben' is 'Sonny's' former teammate-turned-owner of the struggling APXGP team. 'Ruben' enlists 'Sonny' to mentor a fiery young rookie, 'Joshua Pearce' played by Damson Idris, he is a raw but a gifted driver whose potential can revive the team’s fading hopes. As 'Sonny' returns to the race, he confronts his past, the pressures of the modern F1 circuit, and the price of the legacy he had left behind.
Set against the backdrop of Formula 1’s most iconic tracks, the film is a gripping story of redemption, ambition, and mentorship, Though the plot is not revolutionary in nature and has been seen before in many films, the cast and direction of F1 had already made it a fan favourite.
