'Bosch' Spinoff Series 'Ballard' Premiere Date, Cast, Where And How To Watch The Intense Crime Drama

Ballard is an American police procedural series created by the ace developers, Michel Alaimo and Kendall Sherwood. The series will follow the journey of 'Renee Ballard' as she takes command of the LAPD's newly formed Cold Case Division. The crime drama is a spinoff of the series, Bosch, which is based on Michael Connelly's novel of the same name. 

Bosch universe to bring the spinoff series, Ballard 

A new chapter has officially been introduced into the Bosch universe. The LA police department is all set to embark on a new journey under the guidance of 'Detective Renee Ballard', the lead of the show and the new head of the newly underfunded cold case division. The series is said to focus on 'Renee' and how she runs the new division with her impeccable skills and undeniably sharp mind. 

When and where to watch the new show, Ballard?

The wait is over for Ballard fans, as the series has already premiered on Amazon Prime Video on July 9, 2025. The first season, which consists of 10 episodes, was dropped altogether on premiere day. In the series, fans will get to see the return of 'LAPD detective, Harry Bosch' essayed by Titus Welliver after he played the dogged detective for 10 seasons on Bosch and Bosch: Legacy. He will offer his guidance and expertise to 'Renee Ballard' essayed by Maggie Q as she aims to tackle the city's most challenging and long forgotten crimes with extreme determination and empathy. According to Prime Video, the show can be described as:

"As she peels back layers of crimes spanning decades, including a serial killer's string of murders and a murdered John Doe, she soon uncovers a dangerous conspiracy within the LAPD. With the help of her volunteer team and retired detective Harry Bosch, Detective Ballard navigates personal trauma, professional challenges, and life-threatening dangers to expose the truth."

Ballard follows the story of 'LAPD Detective Renee Ballard'. The new and fearless leader of the Los Angeles Police Department's underfunded and all-volunteer cold case unit. According to the show's official logline, Renee's journey will be armed with her unwavering determination as she races against time to solve the city's most challenging cold cases, confronting the ghosts of victims past, the very real dangers of the present, and even her own past catching up to her. 

The cast of Ballard 

Ballard will stream on Amazon Prime Video with a star-studded cast. The talented Maggie Q will essay the role of 'Renee Ballard'. At the same time, her partner in solving crime, the protagonist of the original series, 'Harry Bosch', will be played by Titus Welliver. Courtney Taylor will appear in the show as 'Samira Parker', and John Carroll Lynch will play the role of 'Thomas Laffont'. Additionally, the cast will also include Michael Mosley, Rebecca Field, Victoria Moroles, Amy Hill, Noah Bean, Hector, Hugo, Ricardo Chavira, and Alain Uy. The show is backed by Fabel Entertainment and Hieronymus Pictures, and is directed by Jon Huertas, Sarah Boyd, and Logan Kibens.
