'Bigg Boss Kannada 12' Winner, Comedian Gilli Nata Lifts Trophy, Takes Home Rs. 50 Lakhs

The winner of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 is popular comedian, Gilli Nata. He and contestant, Rakshitha Shetty, had a face-off, and it was Kichcha Sudeep who raised the hand of Gilli and declared him the winner of the season. The finale episode of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 aired on January 18, 2026, and Gilli, apart from winning a brand new Maruti Suzuki Victoris, took home a whopping prize money of Rs. 50 lakhs. Rakshitha, on the other hand, became the first runner-up of the show.

Gilli Nata takes home Rs. 50 lakhs prize money after winning Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 

For the unversed, Dhanush Gowda got eliminated in the sixth place, while Mutant Raghu in the fifth, and Kavya in the fourth place. It was just Gilli and Rakshitha who were in the top two positions and were awarded the prize money of Rs. 50 lakhs. Fans of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 watched the episode on Colors Kannada Channel along with Jio Hotstar.

Who is Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 winner, Gilli Nata?

Gilli Nata belongs to Matadapura, which is located in the Mandya district, Malavalli taluk in Karnataka. The comedian came from a farming family and his life was known to be simple but filled with struggle. Gilli completed his education locally, and then, according to a Times of India report, he did ITI studies. Gilli hailed from a small town and had a dream of becoming a film director. However, due to financial constraints and also because of opportunities lacking, Gilli's route in the entertainment industry was tough. He had become a fan favourite in the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 house.

Gilli Nata used to work as a set assistant

The report further mentioned that Gilli had shifted to Bengaluru and then began working behind the scenes, also as a set assistant. He was also working in the arts departments and used to learn crafts. Gilli had also tried his hands in scriptwriting, short films, and comedy skits and shaped his own personality as a performing artist. Gilli's content was always around daily life and was known to be relatable. He used to draw inspiration from family-related conversations, student struggles, social media addiction, trends, and online classes. He got his voice via the element of humour.

Speaking more of Gilli, he was seen on Dance Karnataka Dance and also on Comedy Kiladigalu Season 4. He was also seen in Bharjari Bachelors and was known for adding humour content in the form of punch lines to the show. For the unversed, Gilli's real name is Nataraja and is an example of how being authentic, along with perseverance and hard work, can change one's humble beginnings into an extraordinary success.

Gilli Nata connected well with the Kannada audience

Gilli Nata has been known for using the Mandya Kannada dialect, which became his signature style. It resonated with his Kannada-speaking fans. It was with Comedy Kiladigalu Season 4, where the actor became the first runner-up. His natural comedy timing was loved and his stage presence and comic timing was something totally phenomenal. Gilli's work with Dance Karnataka Dance revealed his versatility as a performer and he received the Best Entertainer Award too. Gilli also played an important role in Darshan's movie, Devil and with Bigg Boss Kannada 12, Gilli cemented his crowning glory.
