Bhavana Ramanna Gives Birth To Twin Girls At 40 Via IVF, Only One Baby Of The Single Mother Survives

Kannada actress, Bhavana Ramanna, had broken all the conventional norms when she announced that she was embracing motherhood without marriage. What was even more shocking for people was that the 40-year-old actress had conceived through IVF after she felt the urge to be a mother despite being single. Bhavana stood strong through her brave decision and reportedly gave birth to twin girls prematurely a week ago, in late August 2025. However, according to reports, there is an air of both celebration and condolence in the Ramanna household.

Only one of the baby girls of Bhavana Ramanna has survived

Reportedly, Bhavana Ramanna had developed some health issues while in her third trimester, that is, in the seventh month of her pregnancy. A Times Now report suggested that the actress was facing fluctuations with her health, and after she was tested, it was found out that one of the twins was actually having issues. As a result, Bhavana was admitted to the hospital in her eighth month, and gave birth to premature twin girls. Unfortunately, only one of Bhavana's baby girls survived. The news about her delivery broke out recently on September 6, 2025. However, according to a Udayavani report, the actress gave birth a few weeks ago. As of now, Bhavana and her baby girl are fine and healthy.

When Bhavana Ramanna had talked about being a single mother without a father in the picture

Bhavana Ramanna took to her Instagram handle on July 4, 2025, and shared a post announcing her pregnancy by showcasing her baby bump in the photos. In the caption, she shared her experience of embracing motherhood through IVF. Bhavana also expressed gratitude to her doctor, who helped her despite many IVF clinics rejecting her for seeking the process as a single woman. Talking about her journey, Bhavana had stated:

"My children may not have a father, but they'll grow up in a home filled with art, music, culture, and unconditional love. They'll be raised to be kind, confident, and proud of where they come from. I didn’t choose this path to rebel — I chose it to honour my truth. If my story inspires even one woman to believe in herself, that’s enough. Soon, two little souls will call me Amma — and that is everything.  Thank you, Dr. Sushma & Rainbow Hospital, for walking beside me."

In an earlier interview with the TOI, Bhavana also mentioned how her family lent her unwavering support when she revealed to them about her decision to step into the role of a mother. The actress's father has also been supportive of his daughter's 'right to get pregnant as a woman'. In the interview, Bhavana stated:

"I remember coming home and telling my father I had begun IVF treatment. He was overjoyed. He said, 'You’re a woman — and you have every right to become a mother'. My siblings rallied around me, offering unwavering support. That kind of community is vital for any single mother. Of course, there have been a few who questioned my choice, asked if this was the right path. I told them, simply and couldn't be more sure."

Team BollywoodShaadis wishes a speedy recovery for the new mother, Bhavana and her baby girl.
