Malti Chahar is an Indian actress, writer and director who rose to fame with her stint on the show, Bigg Boss 19. She entered the house as the second wild card contestant. She is widely known as the sister of Indian cricketer, Deepak Chahar. In a recent conversation, Malti opened up about her personal life and how she struggled to pursue her career in the glamour world. However, the media’s twisted portrayal of her troubled relationship with her parents didn’t sit well with the Bigg Boss 19 contestant.
On December 28, 2025, Malti Chahar took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle and shared a note slamming the media for twisting her words on her parents. In the note, the Bigg Boss 19 contestant mentioned that she doesn’t understand why her parents are being dragged in every podcast and interview. She highlighted how her words are being twisted to seek attention. The note shared by her can be read as:
"I don’t understand why my parents are being dragged into every podcast and interview. And when I answer honestly and respectfully, my words get moulded into attention-seeking headlines. Why? Please stick to me only. They have already had their own set of struggles. Please don’t cause them any more pain."

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Malti Chahar recalled how the constant tension between her parents took a toll on her. The actress shared that as the elder sibling, she had to witness the constant fights between her parents. She highlighted that while her brother, Deepak Chahar, found solace in cricket, she remained at home and faced the tensions between her parents.

Malti shared that when she was young, often her dreams clashed with the expectations that her parents had for her. The Bigg Boss 19 contestant mentioned that while she wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, her father wanted her to become an IPS officer. She recalled how she was given no freedom at home. She added how these things had affected her deeply. She was quoted as saying:
"I had told my father that I wanted to participate in the Miss India beauty pageant and pursue a career in the entertainment industry. However, he wanted me to become an IPS officer. He believed that by keeping me away from these ambitions, I would focus on my studies. I was forced to keep short hair until the 11th grade and was given no freedom. It affected me deeply."

During the same conversation, Malti Chahar revealed that her parents have been living separately for the past 13 years. She shared how her parents’ incompatibility hurt her. She mentioned that as they lived in a 1 BHK house, and when her parents used to fight, she had to witness it all. She highlighted that there were times when her mom and dad used to hit her because of their fights. Recalling the painful memories, Malti said:

"We lived in a 1BHK house. Where do you go when your parents are fighting? Many times, my mother would hit me after arguing with my father, and at times, my father did the same."
Malti was born on November 15, 1990, in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, to Lokendra Singh Chahar and Pushpa Chahar. She entered the Bigg Boss 19 house as the second wild card contestant and got evicted just before the finale week. Through the show, she garnered a lot of attention. She made her acting debut in 2017 with the film, Manicure.
