Meet Tamil Actor Bala, Three Failed Marriages, Found Love In 18-Year-Younger Cousin, Kokila

South actor, Bala, grabbed the limelight when he got married for the third time to Kokila, who happens to be his cousin. The actor has already been in the limelight for a long time, as his former wife, Amrutha Suresh, had previously filed a complaint of harassment against him. Well, the news of Bala's third marriage was not at all taken cordially by his fans and on the social media.

Well, for the unversed, the Malayalam and Tamil star, Bala, was earlier booked for a case reportedly under the Juvenile Justice Act. Bala was already touting controversy when his second wife, Amrutha, alleged being domestically harassed. Now, amid his four marriages, here is a look at Bala's relationship timeline, which is interesting as well as intriguing.

Bala first married his school sweetheart, Chandana Sadasiva

Reportedly, at the age of 21, Bala got married to his school love, Chandana. He did clarify that his marriage to Chandana was not legally recognised and it was more like an immature as well as impulsive decision made when lovers are young. Reportedly, he kept a friendly relationship with her when she shifted to the USA with her other husband and kids. In an interview earlier with Manorama Online, Bala shared:

"Chandana was my school love. We went to a temple for a ceremony, but it wasn't a real marriage. We didn't want her to marry someone else, and in our immaturity, we made that decision. Our families eventually separated us, and we couldn't stay together. I still maintain a friendship with Chandana, and she is now happily living with her husband in America."

A report by Onmanorama stated that in September 2024, a user called Hima Nived Krishna showed some documents related to Bala and Chandana's marriage. In the documents, it was reportedly seen that both of them were married in 2008, and Chandana was from Karnataka. The user claimed that Chandana was abused in the marriage, and so they got divorced.

Bala then married singer, Amritha Suressh

Amritha is best known as the Idea fame star, and reportedly, it was in 2010 when Bala and Amritha tied the knot. The famous singer is known for her songs such as Ayyappa, Kaatril Oru Mogam, Adugulo Adugunai, and Maturma. The pair was then blessed with a daughter whom they called, Avantika. It was in 2015 when reportedly Amritha and Bala's marriage did turn sour and ever since 2015 both of them have been fighting in the public. It was in 2019 when they got separated. Even though they got separated, things did flare up between them, and they had heated exchanges.

Bala married for the third time to Dr Elizabeth Udayan

Bala, after taking a divorce from Amrutha, then got married to Dr. Elizabeth back in 2021. She has been a surgeon, and reportedly, both of them met when Bala consulted her for surgery. Bala, according to a Republic World report, had undergone a liver transplant surgery a few years back, and in 2023, they had started living separately.

Bala married his cousin, Kokila, in 2023 for the fourth time

Bala had taken the internet by storm when he came to the Kaloor Pavakulam Temple located in Kerala with Kokila, his cousin, back in October 2023. Bala married his Chennai-based relative, reportedly in a private wedding ceremony. Their wedding caused a lot of controversy as he was already separated from his former wives. Kokila also claimed that her mama, Bala and her husband were alone for many years, and she did not want him to be alone. Kokila shared that his helping nature made her fall madly in love with Bala. She did share reportedly in a media statement that mama was alone so far and now she was here. In her words:

"Mama used to help everyone at his young age. That’s the reason I fell in love with him in the first place.”
