Late Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan is one of the most talented actors of his generation. The star kid made his acting debut with the blockbuster film, Qala. He garnered a lot of attention after the film and it made him an overnight sensation in the world of cinema. Later, Babil worked in popular films like The Umesh Chronicles and a web series, The Railway Men. Amid the nepotism debate, the actor opened up about how he auditioned for films despite having connections in the industry. For the unversed, Irrfan left for the heavenly abode on April 29, 2020, leaving behind his wife and their sons.
In an interview with BBC Asia Network, Irrfan Khan's son, Babil Khan opened up about his acting career. Talking about the same, the Qala actor revealed that he gives auditions to get work. Mentioning about his privileges, Babil stated that he makes sure that he doesn't abuse his privileges. Elaborating more about it, Babil said:
"I have reflected upon how I deal with my privilege. I give auditions, I don't use the privilege to get jobs, to get work."

Further, in the same conversation, Babil recalled an incident and revealed how once a producer was shocked to see him giving auditions despite being the son of Irrfan Khan. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that the producer was totally mesmerised by his audition video. Babil further added how he works hard and trains himself diligently to become a better actor. Babil said:
"I give my auditions, I train diligently and I work really hard towards becoming an actor. I just finished a film and the proudcer of the film came in and told me, I am a huge fan of yours so I asked, why? and he said, first I have been looking at the footage and it is amazing, and second - I can't believe Irrfan Khan's son coming and giving audition, and your audition was insane, and we are so proud of you."
In the same conversation, Babil added that even though his mother, Sutapa has contacts, he would not like it if he got the work without earning it. The actor stated he likes giving auditions as it helps him clear his self-doubt. Babil also said that earning work rather than getting it because of his privileges is more important because it makes him feel good. Elaborating more on it, Babil said:
"And that made me feel so good. I didn't pick up the phone even though mumma had the contacts, though she'll never do it, but I gave that audition. I cannot image myself getting work not having earned it because then there will always be that self-doubt that I didn't earn this. It's for me more than anybody else that I earn the job and then I feel like I deserve my place at this table. Because the self-doubt will swallow me if I use my privilege to get work."
