Irrfan Khan was one of the most talented and finest actors of B-town. His untimely death was a massive loss for the industry, and his brilliant performances in films still hold a special place in our hearts. Irrfan’s son, Babil often reminds us of Irrfan with his extraordinary acting talent.
In a recent interview with MensXP, Babil Khan shared how the huge fan-following of his father, Irrfan Khan used to affect him. Whenever Babil went out with his father, he felt terrified, thinking he would be separated from him. Speaking about the same, Babil said:
“So when a bodyguard comes and takes him away because the crowd is rushing to him and that hand gets pulled away, for the child, I think it’s very traumatic. I had distance from my father, physical distance because he was shooting a lot, but he was very affectionate towards me when he was there.”

On Irrfan Khan's birth anniversary 2024, Babil Khan shared a picture on his IG handle with his father and penned a heartfelt note for him. Babil wrote that he knew his father the way no one else could know. He also added that it was easy to miss him and to cry over his death. A part of he note could be read as:
Do you know what is hard? To remember the ecstasy in his voice when he would raise it in exaltation to scream “BABILUUUU!!!” every single time he’d see me. To remember then how painful it would be to lose him for the stretches of barren time when he would be away shooting. It is impossible to remember how his beard felt on my fingers when I would scratch his cheek as he read his script or how my fingertips would rest gently on his eyelids when he took a nap. His voice was brilliantly deep, yet it evoked nothing but a gentle prayer from me, a prayer that could only rise from one’s within when an external force has calmed your existential jitters to stillness.
On the work front, Babil was last seen in the film, The Railway Men with Kay Kay Menon, R. Madhavan and others. We will see him soon in the film, The Umesh Chronicles with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan.
