Former Bollywood actress and new mom, Athiya Shetty, celebrated Father’s Day this year with a mix of warmth, excitement, and longing. It’s only been a few months since Athiya and her husband, cricketer KL Rahul, were blessed with a baby girl. For a first-time father, getting to be with his child on Father’s Day is a dreamy moment, but little Evaarah could not be with her dad as he is away in England for the India vs England Test series. Athiya penned a sweet note for her husband on his first Father’s Day as a dad.
This Father's Day holds a special place in Athiya and Rahul’s hearts as it is the cricketer’s very first after welcoming their baby daughter, Evaarah, on March 24, 2025. On this special day, the new mom took to her Instagram and shared a heart-melting picture of baby Evaarah’s dad, Rahul, gently holding her tiny feet. Sharing the sweet moment in black and white, Athiya wrote a note that read:
"Happy first Father's Day to the best. We miss you."
Athiya took this day as an opportunity to honour the other two important men in her life, her beloved father, Bollywood icon, Suniel Shetty, and her father-in-law, Dr KN Lokesh. Sharing a heartfelt moment with Suniel Shetty from her Haldi ceremony, Athiya called him her ‘greatest strength’ as she wrote:
"Happy Father’s Day to my greatest strength. Love you, @Suniel Shetty."
In another Instagram story, Athiya posted a photo of KL Rahul with his father, accompanied by a heart emoji, expressing her love and respect for her father-in-law.
Athiya Shetty, who welcomed baby Evaarah on March 24, 2025, seems to have fully embraced her new role as a full-time mother. It has been a long time since she was seen on the silver screen, and recently, her father explained the reason. Speaking to Zoom, Suniel Shetty mentioned that his daughter was offered many new projects after her last film, Motichoor Chaknachoor, in 2019. However, he emphasised that she has made up her mind that she would no longer try her hand at acting. The actor shared:

"She said, 'Baba, I don't want to,' and she just left. And that's what I salute her for saying, 'I'm not interested. I don't want to do films.' After Motichoor Chaknachoor, a lot came her way. But I don't want to. I am comfortable, you know?"
However, Suniel’s remarks sparked a mixed reaction online. While some praised the new mother for choosing family over fame, others trolled her, saying that she quit an already inactive career. However, Athiya has not paid heed to these online murmurs and seems content with her decision.
Athiya and KL Rahul tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on January 23, 2023. Their daughter, Evaarah, born in March 2025, has become the centre of their universe. Despite Rahul’s busy cricket calendar and Athiya’s decision to stay away from the limelight, the couple's family moments continue to win the hearts of fans.
