Ashneer Grover Used To Live In 1 BHK Flat, Had To Bathe With Wife, Madhuri Due To Shortage Of Space

Ashneer Grover rose to instant fame with his Shark Tank India stint. But his journey to fame was short-lived, as he was stripped of all the positions from his company, BharatPe. According to reports, BharatPe registered a complaint against Grover and his family in December 2022. Apart from his name being dragged into legal trouble, Ashneer is also famous for his lavish lifestyle. However, few know that he had a humble beginning and started his career in a 1 BHK home.

Ashneer Grover revealed he used to live in a 1 BHK

Ashneer Grover and Madhuri once appeared on a podcast of Amrita Rao and RJ Anmol, wherein they revealed that they would live in a 1 BHK in Mumbai. It was during the initial years of their marriage that they had financial constraints, which caused them to live in a small home.

Ashneer Grover would eat food on the floor as they were not able to afford a dining table

Madhuri revealed that it was the times of struggle that brought them together. The couple, who have been married for 17 years, would eat food sitting on the floor as they didn't have a dining table. Madhuri revealed that they would buy furniture bit by bit every month from their salary. 

Ashneer and Madhuri earned Rs. 48K, and they would use that amount to buy furniture every month and pay Rs. 16K as rent. With the leftover salary, they would watch movies, take premium seats and eat good food. The couple even travelled to the US and Canada, as during those days, the dollar used to be just Rs. 40.

Since Ashneer and Madhuri lived in a 1 BHK home and were working. They had the same office timings, and due to a shortage of time and space in their home, they would end up bathing together. Sharing an anecdote, Madhuri revealed that when Ashneer's sister, Ashima came to their home, she was left surprised as they both disappeared together to get ready for work.

Ashneer Grover and Madhuri's love story

Talking about Ashneer and Madhuri's love story, they met each other in college. After being together they decided to get married and got hitched in July 2006. The couple is blessed with two children, Avy and Mannat. Not many know, it was Madhuri Jain Grover, who helped Ashneer Grover built BharatPe. She joined him when there was no senior to take charge of things. After entering the company, she took charge of BharatPe's internal functions. However, after the seed round, she started managing multiple verticals like vendor payouts, banking, human resources, and finance control.
