Aryan Khan's Lawyer, Mukul Reveals Refusing To Take His Case, Says SRK Pleaded, 'I Am A Father..'

It was in 2021 when Shah Rukh Khan's eldest son, Aryan Khan, got embroiled in a drug-related case. It was in 2022 that he received a clean chit after a lot of frenzy arose following Aryan's arrest, as he is the son of Shah Rukh Khan. The superstar fought tooth and nail for his son, and Aryan's lawyer, Mukul Rohatgi, shared that he initially did not want to take Aryan's case.

Shah Rukh Khan did manage to get Mukul on the board. The megastar did run pillar to post after his son, Aryan, got arrested in a drug case. Aryan spent around a month in jail while SRK tried his best to get Mukul on board. He was vacationing in London, but SRK managed to convince Mukul's wife, and then the lawyer flew to Mumbai to fight Aryan's case. During a recent interview with Republic TV, Mukul shared how SRK pleaded. He shared:

"Mr Khan got my number and he called me. So I told him the same thing that I don’t want to do it. The great actor he is, he said, ‘Can I speak to your wife?’ I said, ‘Sure.’ He gave her the sob story, that ‘don’t take it as a client, I am a father’. You know, things like that."

Mukul further shared that for him, it was like a regular bail matter as he had done thousands of them in the past. For him, Aryan's case was not extravagant, but it garnered attention as he was a notable personality, and it became important in that regard. Everyone looked at it differently; however, at that time, Mukul was in the UK, holidaying during the COVID period.

Mukul Rohatgi shared how, as the Former Attorney General of India, he received a call from one of Shah Rukh Khan's close aides. Mukul did not want to take up the matter but shared how Shah Rukh Khan called up, and Mukul had the same response to even tell the superstar. Mukul did share how SRK requested him to talk to his wife and shared:

"So I told him the same thing that I don’t want to do it. And obviously, he was feeling it. So my wife also said ‘Arre chale jao (Please go)’. So I told her that, otherwise, you tell me to be careful during Covid, now you are saying that go all the way and finish your case."

Mukul shared that Shah Rukh Khan was gracious as he was offered a private jet, which he did not want to take. Mukul shared how he himself flew to Mumbai, and then SRK checked into the same hotel where Mukul usually stays, which is Trident at Nariman Point. The lawyer did add:

"I found him to be quite keen and intelligent. He had made a lot of notes and points and stuff like that, apart from the lawyers. And he discussed it with me, and then we argued it."
