AR Rahman Looks Heartbroken As He Makes His First Appearance After Separation From Saira Banu

It has not even been a month since Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman announced his split from Saira Banu after 29 years of marriage. His fans were speechless hearing the news. However, Rahman had come to terms with the bitter reality. He was spotted attending the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Rahman made his first public appearance after he and Saira announced their separation.

A clip of AR Rahman has been making rounds on social media where he was seen attending the 55th International Film Festival (IFF) in Goa. He attended the festival for the Lata Mangeshkar Memorial Talk: Musical Theatre in India session and looked visibly sad. Rahman first ignored the paps and was quietly walking towards his car. Rahman was clad in an all-black suit with brown shades. His facial expressions would leave anyone heartbroken.

Netizens speculated AR Rahman's bassist, Mohini Dey was the cause of the separation

AR Rahman and Saira Banu were married for 29 years. Netizens speculated that Rahman's bassist, Mohini Dey was the cause of his divorce from Saira. This was because she had also announced her separation on the same day as Rahman and Saira. Eagle-eyed netizens started speculating about the connection of divorce between the duo. However, Rahman, Mohini, and Saira squashed the rumours and threatened legal action against the slanderers. Saira also defended her former husband, Rahman and said she came to Mumbai for medical reasons. She added she took a break from the music composer because of her health. In a media statement, Saira quipped:

"That’s why I took a break from AR (Rahman). I would request the YouTubers, and Tamil media to not say anything bad against him. He is a gem of a person, the best man in the world. It is just my health issues that I had to leave Chennai. It wouldn’t have been possible with his busy schedule in Chennai."

The joint statement released by Saira and Rahman said that after many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira and her husband, Mr. AR Rahman made the difficult decision to separate from each other. This decision came after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple found that the tensions and difficulties created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party could bridge at this time. Mrs. Saira and her husband, Mr. AR Rahman emphasised that they had taken this decision out of pain and agony. A part of the post also read:

"Mrs. Saira and her husband Mr. AR Rahman request privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as they navigate this difficult chapter in their life."

Rahman's tweet revealed how he and Saira had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things have an unseen end. Yet, they sought meaning in this shattering, though the pieces may not find their place again.
