Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known by her alias 'The Rebel Kid', is steadily making a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Her journey to fame has been an interesting one, to say the least. She had been a beloved content creator for years, and she even secured a role in a Dharma Productions project, but it all crumbled when she found herself at the centre of a controversy. However, she got right up and regained audience favour through the reality show, The Traitors. Back in her game, Apoorva shared her cup of tea about her time on the set of Nadaaniyan, her bond with co-star Khushi Kapoor, nepotism, and much more.
In an open conversation with SCREEN, Apoorva shared insights about her time filming Nadaaniyan, particularly her experience working with co-star, Khushi Kapoor. She didn't hold back her admiration, calling Khushi 'one of the sweetest people' she's had the pleasure of working with. Apoorva was seen praising Khushi's intense commitment to the craft. She recalled:
"From the very first day, Khushi's quiet ambition stood out. During our chats on set, she once said, 'I hope people start taking me seriously after this film.' That level of sincerity stuck with me. She's someone who truly wants to grow, and she deserves the recognition she's working hard for."
Apoorva also addressed the public comparisons made between her and Khushi's performances, a topic that has sparked countless online debates. Without shying away, she noted that much of the criticism appears to be rooted in the bias against industry insiders. She admitted people tend to be tough on those who come from film families. But Khushi had put in 'solid work' and it's unfair to pit two actors against each other like that. She said:
"I don't think we need to put down somebody else to make another one feel better. It can be done without comparison. I appreciate the compliments, but the comments about how I performed better than her… we don't need to do all this."
Apoorva and Khushi shared many long hours of shooting, and the former was particularly inspired by Khushi's determination, as well as her disciplined routine, even after exhausting schedules. Apoorva told that Khushi would still head to the gym after long hours of shooting; and her work ethics are 'rare'.
Nadaaniyan was unable to meet the expectations of both the audience and critics alike. Criticism was directed towards its content and performances, and the main cast, especially Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan, were subjected to a fair share of this criticism. Apoorva admired Khushi's resilience in handling the feedback. She said:

"Even when the outcome isn't ideal, the way someone conducts themselves speaks volumes. Khushi handled everything with grace."
Apoorva maintains friendly ties with her co-stars from Nadaaniyan. She revealed that she and Ibrahim Ali Khan often hang out, hinting at a comfortable rapport behind the scenes as well. Though Nadaaniyan may not have been a commercial blockbuster, Apoorva's grounded approach, respect for her colleagues, and thoughtful perspective on fame and feedback have earned her goodwill amongst the fans.
What do you think about the comparison between Apoorva Mukhija and Khushi Kapoor? Is it critical or just unfair?
