Ankita Lokhande Pays Tribute To First Co-star And Ex-BF, Sushant Singh Rajput, 'Woh Legend Hai..'

The popular Indian daily soap, Pavitra Rishta, became a sensation and had everyone glued to their TV screen to see the love story of 'Archana' and 'Manav'. Love was also blossoming between Ankita Lokhnade and Sushant Singh Rajput, who respectively essayed these two roles. Even though the couple had an ugly break-up after 5 years of dating, Sushant's untimely demise has left a hole in Ankita's life. Recently, the actress got emotional while talking about her acting journey when she remembered her co-star and former boyfriend, Sushant. 

Ankita Lokhande talked about her acting journey in an event for Fauji 2 

Ankita Lokhande recently attended an event that celebrated the 100-episode milestone of Fauji 2, which is produced by her husband, Vicky Jain, and also stars him as the male lead. The event was joined by Gauahar Khan, the female lead of the show, Manoj Bajpayee and others. In the event, Ankita opened up about her acting journey of 16 years, which was paved with ups and downs and unconditional support from her fans. However, Ankita, a.k.a 'Archana's' journey, is incomplete without the mention of her first co-star, Sushant, her 'Manav'. 

Ankita Lokhande paid an emotional tribute to the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput 

Ankita Lokhande mentioned Sushant Singh Rajput and said that he was her first co-star. The actress was visibly emotional when she said that Sushant is a legend and will always be a legend. To note, the event took place two days after the fifth death anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput, which was on June 14, 2025. In her own words, Ankita said in the event:

 “Sushant Singh Rajput mere first co-star the, aur woh legend hain aur hamesha rahenge."

Ankita Lokhande had posted stories on Instagram on Sushant Singh Rajput's death anniversary 

Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput were a beloved couple of people, both on-screen and off-screen. However, they only worked together on one show, Pavitra Rishta. Sushant left after a break in Bollywood. Then after a while, he also reportedly broke up with Ankita. On Sushant's fifth death anniversary, the actress took to her Instagram handle and posted stories in remembrance of Sushant and their bond. Ankita posted a photo of them from the sets of their show with the song, Khairiyat, the last film of the late actor, which was released when he was still alive.

Ankita Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput met on the sets of the show Pavitra Rishta, where both of them were in the lead roles. They had a public relationship and never shied away from showing affection to each other. They had started dating in 2010, and after 6 years, Sushant also opened up about their marriage plans in an interview. However, in the same year, 2016, the actor took to his social media and announced their breakup.

As per Ankita's statements, especially in Bigg Boss 17, Sushant was the one who broke up with her. The actress also stated in the show that she was depressed for a long time after the break-up, and it took her nearly two and a half years to move on. After, Sushant Singh Rajput's shocking death on June 14, 2020, Ankita has many times recalled their bond and spoken about him in interviews and shows.
