Anita Hassanandani is married to a corporate professional, Rohit Reddy. The duo welcomed their first child, a son, Aarav Reddy, in 2021. Before embracing motherhood, Anita took a sabbatical and made a brief appearance on the show, Hum Rahein Ya Na Rahein, in 2023. Anita recently made a comeback to full-time work with the show, Suman Indori, which marks her return to TV after a five-year gap.
In an interview with Hauterrfly, Anita Hassanandani opened up about how her life changed after embracing motherhood. After welcoming her son, the actress revealed how childbirth led to changes in her sex life, and she experienced mom's guilt. When Anita was asked if she had stopped feeling pleasure after having a child, the Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress said:
“It does change a little bit. But then, you also find it back. In a great marriage, your husband will always be there to find it back for you.”
She further revealed that one needs to express their desires openly to their partners if they are in a relationship. Speaking about it, Anita said that if you love your partner, then you should ask your partner what you want. In Anita's words:
“I don’t think there is anything wrong in expressing yourself. If you are in a relationship or marriage and if you want to be happy, you rather ask that person for what you want than wait for them to realise. That way, you’re just wasting time. Sex is very important in a good relationship. So I think, if you love the person then you should be out there, asking your partner what you want.”
Anita also spoke about the lessons she learned after embracing motherhood and said that a mother has the power of a superwoman. The actress revealed that after becoming a mother, she realised how strong she is and all she wants to do is protect her child. She said:
“The power of a mother, you feel like a superwoman, you actually do. The way you want to protect your child, there is no comparison. It’s crazy. I didn’t know I was this strong. Whenever my son gets fever, I become so emotional. I know how to fix it when he is unwell. Motherhood teaches you how to handle a situation for your child.”
The actress also spoke about experiencing mom's guilt after returning to work and said that she gave a lot of thought to it before making a comeback to acting. Anita shared that she is learning to maintain a work-life balance and now her son, Aarav has started going to school. She added:

“I love acting, and after a lot of thinking, I returned to work. Initially, I thought I would never make a comeback because I want to be there for Aarav, but you have to do things you love for yourself and learn to balance, because mom guilt is never going to go away. And then you don’t want to look back and say, ‘Hey, now my son has a life of his own, he is going to school, I should have returned to work.’ So I feel, if you feel you are ready to get back to work, do it.”
