The Bachchan clan dominated the headlines for a while as speculations about a supposed rift between Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan brewed. Rumours had it that the couple was heading for a divorce, given Abhishek's alleged affair with Nimrat Kaur. Not long after, reports suggested that several family members, including Jaya Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan, were at odds with Aishwarya. However, the couple seemingly quashed the gossip when they attended a wedding and their daughter, Aaradhya's annual day at Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS), together. Recently, though, some of Amitabh Bachchan's old tweets mentioning Aishwarya have resurfaced, causing netizens to speculate once again about where things went wrong.
Recently, a few of Amitabh Bachchan's old tweets mentioning his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai, resurfaced on the social media platform, Reddit. The tweets radiated pure love and reflected the warmth Amitabh and Aishwarya shared. One of the tweets shared a little anecdote about how Abhishek and Aishwarya celebrated Karva Chauth while the former was out of the country. Big B had penned:
"Abhishek out of country on shoot. So face of husband seen through Skype, for Karvachauth by Aishwarya. What times we live in!"
The legendary actor provided little updates about their family life in his other tweets. In one, Amitabh talked about meeting Aishwarya and Aaradhya as they left to fly out to Cannes. Another stated that Big B had been to the airport to drop off Aishwarya and Aaradhya as they left for Singapore. Yet others noted the accomplishments of his family, including Aishwarya. One such tweet read:
"HT Awards for style. A delight have family winning with me, Abhishek, and Aishwarya!! Honoured by legends."
Despite Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai recently making appearances at events as a family, netizens couldn't help but wonder what changed between the duo after noting the warmth that radiated from Big B's older tweets. One user penned, "Two things for sure: 1. Something went very wrong between all of them. 2. There's no single villain at the centre responsible for it all." Another user commented, "Maybe her beef is with Big B actually and not Jaya."
The speculations about Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai being at odds first surfaced when the couple chose to arrive separately at the Ambani wedding. During the event, the entire Bachchan clan, comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan, her husband, Nikhil Nanda and their kids, Navya and Agastya were spotted posing together for the shutterbugs. However, netizens were surprised to see Aishwarya skip the family photo session and choose to pose with just her daughter, Aaradhya, by her side. Not only that, just before she entered the event, the former Miss World was seen having a warm interaction with legendary actress, Rekha. The latter even gave Aishwarya a kiss and a tight hug.
