[EXCL] Chef Vipul Gupta Shares Wall Street's Bride And Groom's Favourite Cuisines From Their Wedding

A Boston-settled couple, Varun Navani and Amanda Soll's wedding, went viral on social media after their 400-member baraat had brought Wall Street to a complete halt. Chef Vipul Gupta handled the wedding catering. The brief given to him was that the menu had to be vegetarian. If it is Indian, it has to be authentically Indian food. If it is American, then it has to be American food. No Indian and American fusion happens as the couple wanted everything to be classic, real, and authentic. More than 10 cuisines were offered. The chef shared exclusive details of Varun and Amanda's favourite food items.

Varun and Amanda's wedding on Wall Street made them the official bride and groom of the financial hub. Chef Vipul Gupta, during an exclusive interview with BollywoodShaadis, shared that he had flown in more than 12 chefs all across the world to come over. There were chefs from Miami, Texas, Mexico, France, Italy, India, and Asia. Chefs were flowing in from across the world and cooking food for the wedding. Speaking of the bride and groom's favourite cuisines, he shared:

"We did one Bhaja Sur California. That is a cuisine made in Mexico, America, and the West Coast. It is like Californian cuisine. It is like the bride's favourite food counter. Something like this is unique, as you do not ask for food from a particular region in America. The groom loved everything. Apart from that, if I talk about Italians, a very special Michelin star chef was flown from Italy to make Italian food. That was one unique factor for Italian food itself."

Chef Vipul also shared that in America, half of the stuff is frozen. There is a lot of frozen food, but in this particular wedding, not even a single item was served frozen. Everything was made fresh with properly skilled chefs and in their production kitchen. That was the most important thing about the item.

The chef shared ahead of the interview that there was a chaat counter loved by everyone, which had Sindhi Dal Pakwan and Jodhpuri Rajkachori. These were the items really loved. If he talked about the main food, the Himachali food, the Surti food, Kathiyawadi, Rajasthani, and Bihari food were the highlights. Everyone loved Punjabi. These were really wow. Chef Vipul added:

"Even in a Mexican counter, Street Corn Elote was one of their favourites. How it is done in NYC, everyone uses frozen yellow corn, but we got fresh corn from Mexico to make. This was something which was loved by all. There were a lot of dietary restrictions. From people having nut allergies, celiac gluten allergies. Celiac is a very severe gluten allergy, and can cause choking. We had a separate team of chefs and managers who were taking care of these restrictions."

Chef Vipul Gupta reveals that for the wedding, Halwais were roped in from India

The chef noted that he and his team had got the halwais from India and then got the proper mithais made, which normally does not happen in the US. In New York, one can have everything else, but this made fresh is unique. He had the proper halwai kitchen where chaats and mithais were made for the wedding. The chef added:

You can get the best of the food, but these things which people do not get and that was the unique factor of the wedding. I had brought 2 special chefs from Gujarat to make Sutarfeni, Halvasan and a couple of other mithais."
