'Bigg Boss 19' Contestant Amaal Mallik Reveals His Relationship Status To Salman Khan, 'Umeed Thi..'

Ace music composer and singer, Amaal Mallik, has entered the Bigg Boss 19 house. His participation has come months after he revealed that he has been battling depression. The music composer had shared on social media about his strained relationship with his family. The grand premiere of Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan, took place on August 24, 2025, and Amaal revealed his relationship status with Salman.

Amaal was introduced as the 16th contestant by Salman in the Bigg Boss 19 house. Amaal poured his heart out to Salman after performing on the stage and interacting with 'Bhaijaan'. Salman had a deeper conversation with Amaal, asking about his personal life, particularly his relationship status. Amaal shared:

"I am single now. Thodi umeed thi pyaar lautega, but vo nahi hua."

Amaal further told Salman about his social media post related to depression and about his broken ties with his family. Amaal shared that when he wrote the social media post, everyone wondered about why he had to do it, and even his parents questioned the same. He told Salman in Hindi that he was clinically depressed. In March 2025, Amaal posted a note on his Instagram, blaming his family for creating distance from his brother. He became vulnerable, spoke about his depression and shared:

"But today I stand at a point where I have been robbed of my peace, drained emotionally & maybe financially too but that’s the least of my concerns. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings. Yes I have only myself to blame for my actions but my self worth has been diminished countless times by actions of near and dear ones that stole pieces of my soul."

Amaal then deleted his post from social media and will now be seen in Bigg Boss 19, which is airing both on JioHotstar and Colours TV. For the unversed, Amaal has worked in movies such as Jai Ho, Khoobsurat, Hero, Baaghi, Kapoor & Sons, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kabir Singh, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and many more movies. Before Amaal entered the Bigg Boss 19 show, he had told the press that he wanted to clear his image that was created on the show.

Amaal Mallik reveals why he took part in Bigg Boss 19

Amaal, in an earlier press conference, shared that he has been excited to be a part of the show. He shared that, for the past 10 years, he has been in the industry, and he feels that people have not understood him when he showed them the reality of the industry. Amaal added:

"I am not affected by losing out on work. Whenever I am removed from films or I don’t feel the right vibe, I take a backseat. When 2-3 producers fire me from big films, I happily go on a holiday, and I don’t take these things to heart.”

Amaal also shared that he wants all his fans to recognise his face and not mistake him for some other celebrity. He revealed that he wanted people who had loved his music and work for 10 years to know who the person behind it is. He wants his face to be recognised alongside his music and the body of work he has created.
