One of the most loved pairs of the TV industry is Aly Goni and Jasmin Bhasin. The popular couple, who met on the sets of Bigg Boss and have been in a relationship for many years now, recently shifted together into an apartment in Mumbai. However, it is a task for bachelors to get homes in Mumbai, and it was no different for Aly and Jasmin. The actor latelty revealed how getting a home in Mumbai was a task for him as he was a Muslim.
For Aly, it was not a smooth journey, as he wanted to find a house in Mumbai. The actor had to face a lot of discrimination as he is a Kashmiri Muslim. During a recent interview with the InControversial Podcast, the actor shared being shunned by landlords despite being a known actor in the entertainment industry. He even shared that in his career, he never faced discrimination at work for being a Kashmiri Muslim, but when he and Jasmin wanted to find a home, he did face discrimination. Aly shared:
"I have never faced discrimination in the industry for being Kashmiri. However, I faced it a lot during the house hunt. Aaj bhi hota hai. Jasmin and I were searching for a house, but many people rejected us, saying, ‘Hum Muslims ko ghar nahi dete.’ The majority of them were the old people."
While Aly has done a considerable amount of work in the TV industry and has also done many good music videos, he was upset with the discrimination that he faced. The actor did note that even as society progressed, there were sects of people who were still into religious discrimination and had a lot of societal barriers. The actor did find this kind of thinking to be primitive.
The actor who is best known for his role in Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel's Yeh Hai Mohabbatein also spoke about the varied kinds of challenges stars have to face when making a mark in the industry. The actor agreed that there are many obstacles one has to pass through to get work in the industry, but he had a good support system. He shared that young actors do not know anything about auditions and credited Ekta Kapoor for keeping him positive all the time in all spheres of life. He noted:
"The struggle is there. It is everywhere, but in showbiz, we get a lot of disappointments. We faced a lot of challenges right from the audition process to casting in the show. Nowadays, due to social media, people get famous by making reels. Sometimes we would doubt ourselves when the casting director avoided us casting in the project by giving some vague reasons. I got support from the industry people.
Aly has had his share of failed relationships before he found true love in Jasmin. Aly, earlier in an interview with the same podcast did mentioned that she was very kind to all his exes and he cannot be so great. He did credit her for being kind to his past girlfriends and shared that she treated them in a similar way she would treat any of his other friends. Aly has been proud to proclaim that no one knows the art of treating people well more than his girlfriend.
