Although, many Indian influencers and actors graced the prestigious event, it was Alia who came last and stole the show. Within hours of arriving at the event, the actress broke the internet with her red-carpet looks and graceful presence. From nailing a Schiaparelli gown to wearing a saree gown designed by Gucci, netizens can't stop talking about the diva. Alia Bhatt reveals Aishwarya Rai has been her source of inspiration for Cannes 2025

Alia Bhatt, who recently attended the closing ceremony of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, sat down for an interview with Brut. The actress, who was excited about her debut at the event, shared with the news portal that she was sure people in India and around the world who were curious about Cannes would be certainly watching the beautiful looks of celebrities on their phones. Sharing her personal experience as a viewer, Alia revealed that she always looked up to the diva, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has been a regular on the carpet since 2002. In her words:

"I, for one, have actually grown up watching Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walk the carpet in all her glory and really represent India on this global stage. It was always such a huge inspiration."

Alia added that after watching Aishwarya, walking on that same red carpet is a surreal feeling that still feels like a dream to her. At the same time, the actress admired the vibrant energy surrounding the event. For those unaware, Alia Bhatt and Aishwarya both walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival as the ambassador for L'Oréal Paris.

Aishwarya Rai served a mix of Indian and modern attires at Cannes Film Festival 2025 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been long associated with L'Oreal and has been a regular on the red carpet. But she surprised fans with her recent looks. For her first appearance, she wore a heirloom ivory-hued Banarasi saree with zari work from Manish Malhotra. However, the highlight of the look was her sindoor and heirloom jewellery with 500 carats of Mozambique rubies and uncut diamonds set in 18k gold. In contrast, for her second look, she wore a custom Gaurav Gupta black velvet gown with silver and gold beadwork. The actress paired it with an ivory Banarasi brocade cape that gave it an old Hollywood charm.

Alia Bhatt made her highly awaited debut at the Cannes Film Festival in an off-shoulder ivory-nude mermaid gown by Schiaparelli with floral accents. She kept it simple with minimal accessories and next wore a strapless navy-blue Giorgio Armani Privé gown. It featured various embellishments with a matching beaded hair cap. For her third look and press meets, she donned a mustered three-piece look. It included a cropped corset top, pencil skirt and matching blazer with a floral headscarf. Lastly, for her most talked about look, she went ahead with a silver mesh Gucci Gown with a saree-like skirt, blouse and dupatta
