Who is Ali Larijani's wife, Farideh Motahhari?

For the unversed, Ali Larijani was married to Farideh Motahhari. She hails from an influential family, as her father has been a powerful political figure. She is the daughter of Morteza Motahhari, who shared a close relationship with Ruhollah Khomeini. Her father was hailed as an intellectual figure during the Iranian revolution.

Farideh's father also played a significant role in forming the Islamic foundation in the country. He was known as a respected philosopher, but right after the success of the revolution, he was assassinated by a militant group. It gave him the status of martyr. It is the reason why Farideh recieves a lot of love as she hails from the respected religious lineage.

Ali Larijani was 20 years old when he got married to Farideh Motahhari. He was studying at a university. After the marriage, the two strong political families united. For the unversed, Larijani's father, Mirza Hashem Amoli, was a famous Shia scholar. Many of Larijani's brothers also secured senior positions in the Iranian government. Soon, they were hailed as the most influential families in Iran. The marriage served as a new level of support for Larijani in Iran's politics. 

After the wedding, Farideh Motahhari maintained a low-key life away from the media and people of Iran, while her husband excelled in the politics of the country. It is worth mentioning that Iranian officials' wives rarely appear or participate in political affairs, as in other countries.

Despite her powerful family background, Farideh Motahhari has maintained a very low public profile. Unlike many spouses of political figures in other countries, the wives of senior Iranian officials rarely appear in the media or participate publicly in political affairs. After marriage, Ali Larijani and Farideh Motahhari were blessed with four children, two sons and two daughters. However, the family stayed away from the limelight due to cultural and political norms in Iran. Talking about Farideh, she happily chose to take care of Larijani's family while he was building Iran's economy and politics.

As for Ali Larijani, he has been a prominent figure in Iranian politics for many decades. He started off as a speaker of the Iranian parliament, the Islamic Consultative Assembly, from 2008 to 2020. He had also worked as a secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and head of Iran's state broadcasting organisation. 

Over the years, people have mostly been named as influential figures in the Islamic Republic. After Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, who has been in power since 1989. He also passed away during the current US-Israel and Iran tensions. After which, his wife also died.
