One of the finest actors of Bollywood Ajay Devgn has raised the bar of action high with his power-pack performances. With his blockbuster films, Ajay is often regarded as one of the most bankable actors in the industry. And it is none other than his father, action choreographer, Veeru Devgn, who had inspired him.
Veeru Devgan had launched Ajay Devgn in the superhit film of the '90s, Phool Aur Kaante. His heroic bike split entry is still considered iconic. On May 27, 2019, Veeru Devgan had breathed his last and had left for the heavenly abode.

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, Ajay Devgn remembered his guru, Veeru Devgn. A few moments back, Ajay took to his IG handle and shared a throwback picture with Veeru Devgan and paid his gratitude for him. Along with the picture, he wrote, "Saluting my father (Veeru Devgn), my Guru, on this auspicious day. I was fortunate to get my life and career lessons from him. A valued gift that I carry with me like a badge of honour #GuruPurnima."
It was in the year 1957 when Veeru Devgan had decided to enter the film industry. So, he came to Mumbai in the hope of becoming an actor. In an interview with India Today, Ajay Devgn had proudly stated that his father will always be the 'Singham' of his life. He had said, "The Singham in my life can only be my father. Because he is a man who came to Bombay at that point in time with nothing in his pocket, wanting to become something, struggled, washed and lived in taxis so he could live here, did not eat food for eight days at times, worked so hard, became a street fighter from there till Mr Ravi Khanna saw him one day asking him whether he would become a fight director. From there, his growth from nowhere to become India’s topmost action director is remarkable."
