At that time, both Julia and Danny had different partners. She was dating Mother of the Bride actor, Benjamin Bratt, and he was married to makeup artist, Vera Steimberg. On July 4, 2002, Julia Roberts and Danny Moder secretly tied the knot. They married in a surprise, private ceremony at Roberts' ranch in Taos, New Mexico. Interestingly, the guests were reportedly invited under the guise of an Independence Day party. Like Danny, Julia also once experienced married life before meeting him. After her breakup with Kiefer Sutherland, she married Lyle Lovett, but the couple divorced two years later.

Julia and Danny welcomed their first children, fraternal twins, Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia. They were born on November 28, 2004, in Los Angeles. The confirmation of the pregnancy came during an interview with People. On June 18, 2007, their third child, a son named Henry Daniel was born, bringing immense joy to the couple. During her first pregnancy, Julia travelled to Italy for her role in Ocean's 12. Recalling her experience on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she said:

"I was pregnant for the first time, and you would have thought I was made of glass. They just wanted to dress me in cotton balls and usher me. It was really, really charming."

The couple have been spending their life in love for over two decades now. This year, on July 4, they commemorated their 23rd wedding anniversary. Julia shared a photo on Instagram showing their bare feet inside a tent, captioning it as, "You + Me = 23". As for their professional collaboration, they once again worked together in a movie named Secret in Their Eyes, with Julia as the actress and Danny as the cinematographer.
