Afroman Takes The Stand, Rapper And Singer Blames Police Officers For Damages In 2023 Lawsuit Trial

Afroman has built a big fan base over the years with his musical skills. He has worked with record labels such as Federal and Universal, and is known for his albums, including Because I Got High, Sell Your Dope, The Good Times, and Jobe Bells. The rapper has recently started trending for his trial, which is linked to a lawsuit filed by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office against him in 2023. Afroman was accused of using the faces of a few officers in his music video after they conducted a raid at his house in 2022.

The trial started in March 2026, and the latest development in the case says that the artist had a confrontation with the authorities inside the court. Keep reading to know more.

Afroman blamed the police officers for everything that happened

The trial of Afroman continued on March 17, 2026 (ET), and the singer appeared in court, wearing sunglasses alongside an outfit of red, white, and blue color. Notably, Afroman’s testimony has now created headlines as he defended himself by saying that it was the fault of the police officers, which led to the legal battle. He reportedly mentioned that he was not wrong to create anything with his cameras since the officers allegedly caused a lot of damage to his house. He explained the same by saying:

“All of this is their fault. If they hadn’t wrongly raided my house, there would be no lawsuit, I would not know their names, they wouldn’t be on my home surveillance system, and there would be no songs… my money would still be intact.”

Sgt. Randy Walters, who was also a part of the raid conducted in Afroman’s residence, appeared at the trial. Randy was questioned about whether he faced any harassment from the artist and if he was called a “son of a b****.” Walters said that the word was used against him, clarifying that it was not published anywhere.

Afroman used the footage of the raid in his music video

The ongoing legal issue involving Afroman and the officer started with a raid in 2022 at the artist’s house. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office had a search warrant for the raid, and it was linked to an investigation of drugs and kidnapping victims. During the raid, the officers seized a lot of cash, and although they were later returned to Afroman, he claimed that around USD 400 was missing. Afroman also alleged that the Sheriff’s Office refused to take any responsibility for the damage caused to his property, and an officer was reportedly laughing at that time. 

Afroman eventually made a music video to share his experience and get some help with the expenses needed for the repairs to his house. The song was written by Afroman, and it was titled Lemon Pound Cake. The music video was released in 2022 and seven officers of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office sued Afroman in 2023 for using the footage of the raid in the video. The clip featured the faces of the officers, who said in the lawsuit that Afroman’s use of their faces in social media posts and videos led to emotional distress, humiliation, embarrassment, loss of reputation, and ridicule.

The officers were seeking damages caused by their faces appearing in the music video. On the other hand, Afroman responded with another lawsuit for damages to his house. However, the allegations were dismissed in February 2026 by Judge Jonathan P. Hein, and Afroman expressed his dissatisfaction with the same.
