Aditya Narayan On 69-Yr-Old Father, Udit Narayan's Kissing Video: 'He Had No Idea About Consent..'

Udit Narayan made headlines earlier this year for all the wrong reasons. A video of him widely surfaced on the internet, wherein he was seen kissing women on the cheeks and lips at a private concert. The 69-year-old's act left everyone in deep shock, and there were follow-up theories and judgments. Now, Udit Narayan's son, Aditya Narayan, who is a singer, actor and host, shared his thoughts on it.

Aditya Narayan reacted to Udit Narayan's kissing video

Recently, in an interview with SCREEN, Aditya Narayan finally reacted to his father, Udit Narayan's kissing video. He stated that no one has control over social media, and being a public figure, they don't have control over every single part of their life being broadcast in the world. He said:

"Internet is a strange thing. Social media is not a real place and what you see on social media is not the full picture. As public figures, we don’t have control over every single part of what is broadcast in the world."

Aditya revealed that his father was unaware of the term consent. It was a new development for him. He stated that if he had done the same and kissed a 32-year-old girl, then it wouldn't be a big thing. Aditya stated that he is a respected senior of Bollywood and his fans range from 6 to 60. Aditya said:

"But now, thankfully, we live in a day and age when consent is a thing. He had no idea about it. It is a wonderful, but fairly new development. There are age-appropriate terms also now. Shayad mein karta aur koi 32 saal ki ladki hoti, toh itni badi baat nahi hoti. He is now a respected senior member of the music fraternity and his fans range from 6 to 60. So, it depends on who it’s happening with."

When Udit Narayan reacted to his kissing video

A while ago, Udit Narayan attended the trailer launch of the film, Pintu Ki Pappi. Surprisingly, he was seen in a jovial mood and took a funny dig at his own video by asking if it was Udit ki Pappi. The singer further discussed the coincidence and how the video went viral at that time. 

Udit Narayan claimed that the video was from two years ago when he went to a concert in Australia. He assured everyone that it was an old video. Later, he was seen congratulating the team for the film. Addressing the controversial kissing video, Udit Narayan said:

"Khoobsurat title hai 'Pintu Ki Pappi' aur 'Udit ki Pappi' toh nahi? Yeh bhi ek itefaak hai ki  yeh release hona tha, matlab 'mujhe'. Waise 2 saal pehle ka video hai Australia mein jo aap dekh rahe hai. Haan 2 saal pehle ka hai. Toh badhai data hoon aapko."

Udit Narayan was dressed up in a black suit with a white-hued crisp shirt underneath. He looked smart, but one cannot fail to notice the film's poster, which was on the backdrop, featuring the girls pouting. However, he looked a bit uncomfortable while talking about the video.
