'Dabangg' Director, Abhinav Kashyap Calls Salman Khan A 'Gunda', Says, 'Khan Family Comes After You'

As Dabangg is all set to mark its 15th anniversary, director, Abhinav Kashyap has stirred a renewed controversy by once again openly condemning and speaking out against Salman Khan's behaviour during the shoot of the 2010 action movie. The director even went on to accuse the Khan family of becoming vindictive and taking away his opportunity to direct Dabangg 2 and other projects in Bollywood. Here’s all he said about Salman and the Khan clan.

Abhinav Kashyap says Salman Khan is a ‘Gunda’ who doesn’t care to act

In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, the Indian Express, director Abhinav Kashyap didn’t hold back his scathing remarks against the superstar, Salman Khan. He expressed how the actor has behaved with him in the past and how Salman has no interest in acting. He could be quoted as saying:

“Salman is never involved. He is not even interested in acting, and he hasn’t been since the last 25 years. He does a favour by turning up to work. He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a gunda (goon). I was not aware of this before Dabangg. Salman badtameez hai, ganda insaan hai.”

Abhinav Kashyap called the Khan clan industry rulers and vindictive enforcers

Abhinav also alleged that the Khan family holds significant power in the film industry and uses it to control decisions and people. According to him, they react harshly to anyone who disagrees with them and often act out of revenge when things don’t go their way. He could be quoted as saying:

They are vindictive people. They control the whole process. If you don’t agree with them, they come after you.”

Abhinav Kashyap drew parallels with his brother, Anurag Kashyap’s struggle

Abhinav also spoke about his brother, Anurag Kashyap, who faced similar problems while working on Tere Naam in 2003, which also starred Salman Khan. He said that Anurag had warned him that working with Salman Khan would be difficult and that he might be treated unfairly.

These recent allegations build on earlier claims made by Abhinav in 2020. He had previously accused Salman and his family of sabotaging his career. He said they were responsible for cancelling his involvement in Dabangg 2, undermining his projects like Besharam, and he even suggested that the industry work on a pattern of control by certain people that included bullying and gaslighting.
