Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, is set to make her debut with the highly awaited film, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The diva, who had a lot of delay and cancellations for her debut in the film industry, will be seen on the big screen for the first time in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. At the same time, the 25-year-old is set to romance Vikrant Massey, who will be seen in a new role after starring in a series of serious films. Recently, the makers of the film have dropped a new poster ahead of its trailer release. However, amid these praises and expectations, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has also sparked a debate among the fans.

A while ago, Zee Studios took to their Instagram handle, where they dropped the first poster of the highly awaited film, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The poster features Vikrant and Shanaya in a dreamy setting of a fair. They sit facing each other on a merry-go-round horse with eyes shut, hands clasped together, and joined heads in a romantic moment. Shanaya sparkles in a bright red top and skirt with a high slit, while Vikrant dons a casual look with a brown jacket and pants. However, the backdrop, with shimmery lights, creates a perfect setting for a heartfelt fairytale romance. Sharing the poster, the team penned:

"Two hearts. One love. And countless Gustaakhiyan."

Netizens debate over Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor's age gap in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan 

When the poster of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan was shared by the film's makers online, several industry insiders, including Shweta Bachchan, Abhay Verma, Shanaya's parents, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Rasha Thadani, among others praised it. However, netizens have a different opinion. Some fans are excited for the upcoming film, while others questioned the 13-year age gap between the lead actors. For those unaware, Shanaya is 25, and Vikrant is 38-years-old. One netizen penned, "The age difference is showing." Another user wrote, "Uncanny pairing, though, would have expected her debut with a younger hunk from the same generation." Some fans even questioned Vikrant's previous statement and asked, "I thought he retired."

Why did netizens question Vikrant Massey's retirement? 

Previously, in December 2024, Vikrant Massey shared a post on his Instagram handle where he expressed gratitude to everyone who showed him love over the years, especially for his last releases, 12th Fail and The Sabarmati Report. The actor also mentioned that moving forward, he would 'recalibrate' and spend more time with his family. Vikrant had added that he would meet fans for the last time on-screen in 2025, which led people to believe that he was retiring. However, later, at a media event of Times India Enclave, the actor clarified that he wasn't taking retirement, but just some time off-films to be with his family.

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is a romantic film that is set to entertain fans from July 11, 2025. It will feature a fresh on-screen pair of seasoned actor, Vikrant Massey and debutant, Shanaya Kapoor. Backed by Zee Studios and Mini films, it was shot across different places, including Europe, Azerbaijan, Mussoorie, and Dehradun. Details related to its storyline have been kept under wraps. It's directed by Santosh Singh, and Vishal Mishra has created soulful melodies for it.
