Sonam Kapoor's movie, Dolly Ki Doli, which was released back in 2015, showcased the protagonist marrying multiple men, and then fleeing with their wealth on the same day. Who would know that this reel-life story would turn into a shocking real-life event? Yes! You read it right. Recently, the receiver of the nickname 'loot and scoot bride's case has left everyone shocked, as she married 25 men and then fled with their valuables, such as cash, gold, electronics, and more.
The 23-year-old woman, who is identified as Anuradha Paswan was recently arrested by the Rajasthan police, as she reportedly not only deceived 25 men and married them, but also fled with their valuables. According to a report by The Times Of India, Anuradha was part of a well-organised WhatsApp-based marriage fraud network. If the reports are to be believed, some individuals from her team would make a match for the real grooms, while making Anuradha pose as the perfect bride for them. Then she would legally marry those men, and after a few days, she would flee with their money, gold, and whatever valuable assets she could take.
Anuradha Paswan came under the radar of the investigators after an individual from Sawai Madhopur, Vishnu Sharma filed a complaint against her and the incident that took place. He said to have paid a hefty amount of Rs. 2 lakh to two agents named, Sunita and Pappu Meena in a wish to get a suitable bride. Well, as per their plan, Anuradha posed as the perfect fit for Vishnu. The duo got married on April 20, 2025, and after a few days, on May 2, 2025, Anuradha fled with Vishnu's valuables and never returned. Following this, Vishu filed the complaint, and the entire fraud racket came to light.
The investigators revealed that Anuradha used to work in a hospital in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, and she was married to a man there. She later separated from her husband due to a domestic dispute between them. Anuradha then reached Bhopal and joined hands with a criminal gang, associated with marriage scams.
This racket reportedly worked through WhatsApp and several individuals posed as agents, who used to find men their potential brides, charging Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. After Vishnu, Anuradha got married to another man named Gabbar in Bhopal while duping him for Rs. 2 lakh. Anuradha reportedly married 25 men, duped them for lakhs, and fled with their valuables in just 7 months.
