Owen Cooper was born in 2009 in Warrington, Cheshire, England, in a working-class family. He has two siblings, and his father is reportedly an IT professional, while his mother is reportedly a caregiver. From an early age, Owen had developed an interest in acting, which came to him naturally. Finding his true calling at a young age, he began taking weekly acting lessons at The Drama Mob, a Manchester-based Drama school for young performers. While taking lessons, he perfectly trained himself to perform on stage, hone his acting skills, and more, despite not coming from a background tied to the glamour world.

Owen Cooper made his debut with the limited series Adolescence. He played the role of 'Jamie Miller', a 13-year-old boy who was accused of the murder of a teenage girl and was arrested for the same. Owen lived up to his role with such authenticity that it seemed real, even while running on screens. He did so well in his role that he became the youngest actor to have his hands on the Emmys, a record in itself. Talking about how he bagged the role, casting director Shaheen Baig and her team were looking for someone who could be raw in form and could bring emotional depth and authenticity to the role of 'Jamie Miller'.

They held an audition in the UK, and Owen, who was taking weekly acting classes at the time, auditioned. Well, the role was secured by Owen, who grabbed the attention of the selectors with his raw and authentic portrayal. The casting director revealed that one of the reasons that Owen could bag the role was that he brought an authentic touch, rather than just trying to be an experienced one; thus, even with no experience in that matter, Owen could bag the role in the limited series, and not just that he won Emmys, too, first time, being of 15-year-old.

After Adolescence, Owen Cooper has some super exciting projects with him. Owen is set to play the young character of 'Heathcliff' in Wuthering Heights, which is all set to hit the theatres in 2026. Apart from that, he will also be seen in the BBC series' Film Club.

It's no doubt an amazing feeling to get hands on the Emmy, even being at 15, and there's no denying the fact that Owen is overwhelmed. For someone who didn't have a filmy background but wishes to make it one day, receiving such a prestigious award automatically shows the hard work that the person has put into it. Talking about his win, Owen said that three years back, he was nothing and he didn't even expect to be in the US doing such projects, but all he had was his willpower and the nudge to get out of his comfort zone to make it, which he did, and the result was there. Owen could be quoted as saying:

"A couple of years back, I didn't expect to be in the United States, let alone here. Tonight proves that if you listen, you focus, and you step out of your comfort zone, you can achieve anything in life. I was nothing three years ago. I'm here now. If you step out of your comfort zone, who cares if you get embarrassed? Anything can be possible."
